If you cherish cherry blossoms, it is time that you book your flight to Japan and enjoy sakura. Unfortunately, there are no sakuras here in Singapore. There are some that is close to sakura but nothing beats Japan’s sakura. What are you waiting for? Sakura is waiting for you.
Sakura viewing is locally called Hanami. You should head directly to Tokyo and marvel over Sakura and how their beauty captures many people. The Hanami festival will be held in Roppongi District from April 19-20, 2014. The theme for this year is “Move Your Body”. It will feature contemporary arts of Japanese and there will be 830,000 visitors expected to come.
If you haven’t booked your tickets to Japan now, it may be too late for that but you can always plan for the next year. Here are some things that you can do to make your sakura viewing trip successful:
- Know when to visit: If you do not want to waste your time and resources, you should time your visit when the sakuras are in full bloom. The blooming of sakuras usually happens from March to April. If you are uncertain, you can always visit the website of Japan’s Tourism Board.
- Stay at Ryokan: You are in Japan, might as well experience how locals live. You should stay at Ryokan. Ryokans are inns that feature hot spring, kaiseki meals and tatami rooms. You should not worry because there are many Ryokan around.
