Get Rid of Signs of Dryness Overnight
If you have dry patches on your face or just have generally dry skin, you know how frustrating it is to bring back the plumpness of your skin. You can’t just slather some cream and expect it to fix everything—you need an all-in-one approach to get rid of those dryness.
Skip the Foam
If your facial wash says ‘foamy,’ it’s probably doing your skin more harm than good. Foaming face washes, like those specially designed for oily and acne-prone skin, are usually filled with sulphates. For a face wash that cleanses but doesn’t dry out the skin, go for creamy cleansers. For make-up remover, choose an oil-based variant that’s specially formulated for dry and sensitive skin.
Get a Humidifier
Yeah, yeah, purchasing a humidifier for beauty purposes sounds ridiculous, but there’s a good reason why dermatologists swear by them. Humidifiers help replenish the skin’s moisture that’s sucked away by cold air and skin-drying beauty products. If you have the luxury, get humidifier for your bedroom, and turn it on the moment you get in bed.
Ignore the Packaging
That luxe-looking face cream in a gold tub may look elegant on your vanity, but it may be doing nothing for your dry skin. To ensure you’re getting the maximum moisturizing benefits of every beauty product you use, read the ingredients. Do not just rely on what the front label says. After washing the face, apply face serum with hyaluronic acid, a good skin moisturizer. After the serum, slather some face cream that has glycerine and ceramides in it to reinforce your skin’s moisture barrier.
Exfoliate Gently
You don’t want to cause harm to your sensitive skin from harsh exfoliation, so try to be gentle as much as you can when using face scrubs. The olive-oil-and-sugar combo provides gentle exfoliation, while keeping the moisture of your skin. Mix sugar and olive oil in equal parts and gently scrub on your face in circular motions. It should feel like a soft facial massage. After two to three minutes, wash your face and tap dry. Apply your choice of serum and/or moisturizing cream.
It is crucial to know the cause of dry skin. Perhaps, it’s the weather, but it could also be because of the wrong product or simply lack of water in your system. Whatever the reason may be, there are certain things you can do and things you should avoid to keep your skin youthful and beautiful.
